Hmong Wausau Festival

Join thousands of festivalgoers at the Hmong Wausau Festival on Aug. 1–2 at the People’s Sports Complex to enjoy exciting soccer, volleyball, flag football, and cornhole tournaments, along with singing and dance competitions celebrating Hmong culture. Film, Farm & Culture Fest

July 30 to Aug. 1 | Woodson History Center, Wausau
Northcentral Technical College concludes the second annual Film, Farm & Culture fest this weekend, with three screenings of critically acclaimed films: “The Shepherd & the Bear” on July 30, “Hen” on July 31 and “Green is the New Red” on Aug. 1. The aim of the festival is to highlight the relationship between human culture and the land we live on. Each screening starts at 6 p.m. at the Woodson History Center with a brief introduction, followed by a 30-minute moderated audience discussion after the film. Movie in the Park

What says summer better than watching a movie on a warm night, laying on the cool grass under the stars? Once again, the Wausau & Marathon County Parks, Recreation & Forestry is hosting movie screenings at the 400 Block free of charge. This coming week they will screen the 1992 Disney classic “Aladdin.” Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and treats and enjoy a night of family entertainment in the beautiful setting of downtown Wausau. Don’t forget to head to your favorite downtown business for treats or dinner before the movie! Starts at 7 p.m.

Drop-in Art: Bean Mosaics

Tuesday, Aug. 4 | Monk Botanical Gardens, Wausau
Join Children’s Wisconsin for summer programming in the great outdoors! Come for the program at 10-11 a.m. and then stay to explore the gardens. Play and Learn events are intended for children ages 6 and under. Older children who are mindful of little ones are welcome. No registration required. Concerts on the Square

Wednesday, Aug. 5 | 400 Block, Wausau
Bring your cooler and a lawn chair! Concerts on the Square this week features music from Krazy Knights: a band who’s been playing classic rock and country from the 60s to 90s for over 30 years together in north central Wisconsin. At this free 13-week concert series, over 2,000 people gather each week to listen to live music, eat, drink and enjoy the Wisconsin summer nights together.
