Aug. 13-15 | Stewart Park, Wausau
This summer, River & Woods Theatre Company will continue the Shakespeare in the Park program with the city of Wausau by performing Shakespeare’s “Merry Wives of Windsor” and a kids production of “The Comedy of Errors” at Stewart Park. Tickets to the plays cost $15 for adults and $10 for children and seniors, and tickets can be purchased online. The shows will be performed at 2 p.m. (“Comedy of Errors”) and 6 p.m. (“Merry Wives”) each day. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Thursday, Aug. 13 | Rothschild Pavilion, Rothschild
This August, Wausau’s Culture Festival and the Backpack Bash are combining into one incredible community event. Join the community on Aug. 13 from 4-7 p.m. at the Rothschild Pavilion to celebrate the many cultures that make the Wausau area vibrant and welcoming. Enjoy cultural performances, food, activities, community resources and opportunities to connect with neighbors from around the world. Families can also receive free school supplies to help students start the school year prepared and ready to succeed. Aug. 14-16 | River Park, Mosinee
There’s plenty of old-time fun to be had at Mosinee’s LogJam — an admission-free festival with live music, food trucks, log-rolling competitions, corn hole tournaments, a historical museum and much more. The festival will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14 and will continue from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Monday, Aug. 17 │ MCPL and Oak Island Park, Wausau
Learn all about Wisconsin bats and their habitat with a free presentation follwed by an evening bat walk. After a presentation by Bat Ambassadors at the Wausau library, attendees will head to Oak Island Park where they will use specialized equipment to listen for bats flying through the urban landscape. Tuesday, Aug. 18 | Kennedy Park, Weston
Bring your cooler and a lawn chair! Concerts on the Square this week is a special concert off the square! Once a season, Wausau events takes the fun from the 400 Block out to Kennedy Park in Weston. This week features music from Jet Pack Stereo: a Wisconsin cover band bringing a fresh, high-energy take on the songs you love, including classic rock, pop, country and throwback favorites. At this free 13-week concert series, over 2,000 people gather each week to listen to live music, eat, drink and enjoy the Wisconsin summer nights together.
